Report on the results
of the VI International agroindustrial trade fair “AGROFORUM-2009”

On the 10-13th November 2009 the International agroindustrial trade fair AGROFORUM was held, with the traditional ХII Agro industrial Exhibition "Farmer of Ukraine" also held within its frames.

Trade fair was supported by:
• Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine
• Ministry of Industrial Policy of Ukraine

According to the Decree of Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine from 26.01.2009 № 52 “On the conduction of exhibition/trade fair events by Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine in the year 2009” the VI International agroindustrial trade fair AGROFORUM-2009 was included into the List of domestic and foreign exhibition events organized by and in which the Ministry of agrarian policy participates in the year 2009.

The organizers of the event are:
• Association of farmers and private land owners of Ukraine
• International Exhibition Center, Ltd.
• Expo-centre "Gospodar", Ltd.

In the solemn ceremony of the opening of the trade fair on the 10th November participated:

• Anatoly Herasymenko – Head of Administration of Coordination of agrarian policy implementation of Secretariat of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine
• Roman Scmidt – Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine
• Anatoly Skorchenko – Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine
• Mykola Shevchuk – Deputy Director of State department of agricultural machine building of Ministry of industrial policy of Ukraine
• Ivan Tomich – President of Association of Farmers and Private Landowners of Ukraine

During the solemn ceremony of the official opening the greeting in the address of the trade fair from the Premier-Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko was read.

Products from 19 countries of the world - Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Belgium, the USA, Denmark, China, Germany, Belarus, Israel, Sweden, France, Czech Republic, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Italy, India and Switzerland were represented by 292 participants on the following topics:
• agricultural machinery, equipment and spare parts for it;
• mechanization means for small agricultural enterprises, farms and private plots
• food and food-processing industries equipment
• modern technologies of production, harvesting and storing of crops
• agricultural construction industry, erection of hothouses, erection of quickly installed constructions
• up-to-date technologies and equipment for cattle raising, managing and maintaining in livestock and poultry breeding
• feed production, feed preparation and storing
• food ration for livestock and poultry
• veterinary medicine and biological products
• plant protection means and fertilizers
• gardening, seed farming, seeds of native and foreign breeding
• genetics and selection in plant-growing and stock-breeding, planting material
• software for agricultural enterprises
• agrarian science

This year’s peculiarity was the demonstration of home-produced machinery and equipment for maintenance cooperatives of different specializations within the framework of State goal-oriented economical program of support of agricultural maintenance cooperatives development in the period up to 2015, approved by the Decree of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from 03.06.09 № 557. Within this program at the trade fair was presented the production of such companies as: Galeschina, mashzavod Ltd., Ukravtozapchastyna Ltd., Boguslavska silhosptechnika OJSC, Motor Sich OJSC, Budmontazh Kolos Ltd., Klen, PE, Veles-agro PE, Umanfermmash OJSC, Bratslav OJSC, Khorolsky mechanical plant OJSC and other.

One could also familiarize oneself with the imported agricultural equipment and modern technologies, which were presented by companies Giorgi (Argentina) – official distributor in Ukraine Semtek, trading house Ltd., AB «Western fabrications» (Lithuania), Agro-Jan S.C. (Poland), Gaben Ltd., Ukrainian Vegetable Company Ltd., Autopritsep-Kamaz-Ukraine Ltd., Irrigation systems Ltd., Maevsky V.V. and other.
Visitors could get some additional information about the equipment, component and spare parts for agricultural machinery and also receive some qualified advice on matters connected with purchase and technical maintenance of the exhibited machinery.

Nowadays complex technologies of agricultural products production called “precise farming” gain wider acceptance. This is a complex of events allowing accumulating objective information (precise size of areas, their qualitative characteristics etc.), analyzing it and making quick and effective decisions. Satellite technologies, appliances and equipment, which allow taking into consideration all factors influencing the highly efficient production were presented by companies Agro IT Ltd., Monada, scientific-production firm Ltd., RCS Ltd. and other.

There was a great demand on grain drying equipment, granaries, grain cleaning machinery etc., which is of current interest at this period of year and was represented by the following companies: Shandong Yingchun Steel Silo Manufacturing Co.,Ltd (China), Zibo Boda Steel Silo Co.,Ltd (China), Agrotech PE, Aeromech Ltd., Elevatorpromservice Ltd., Grain Systems Corporation Ltd., Farm-Agro Ltd., Agro-Darina Ltd., Boez Ukraine Ltd., Melinvest JSC (Russia), Brestselmash JSC (Russia), Karlivsky Machine Engineering Plant OJSC, Komsomolets, Machine Engineering Plant JSC, Lord, company and also weighing and metering equipment presented by Alex Scales and Equipment, SE, Gram Ltd., Mekhanotron, PE, Technowagy, Ltd. and other.

Attention of the visitors was drawn to the exposition of feed production and veterinary companies: Protex-trade Ltd., Svit kormiv Ltd., Promelectro Ltd., Feonis OJSC etc., and also to companies dealing with machinery and equipment for cattle and poultry breeding, keeping and feeding: Nizhynsilmash plant, OJSC, Gomelagrokomplekt (Belarus), IKF Agroservice Ltd., VIP-beton, Ltd., Blitz Ltd., Krait Ltd.

A great interest of visitors was excited by the exposition of companies representing the agricultural chemistry section: - SA Belgagri (Belgium), Sharda International Inc. (India), Agro-Delta group, Ltd, Gaben Ltd., Hermes, Agri-company, Novofert Ltd., Reacom Ltd., Ukravit, Company Ltd., Eco-organics Ltd., Arista Ltd. and other, and also the section of seed production and planting material: Caussade Semences (France), Agrosemservice, scientific production firm, Rastorguyev PE and other.

Despite of complicated state of economics in the country and epidemiological situation and introduction of quarantine in some regions of Ukraine in the period of event, the trade fair was successful and it was visited by more than 3000 specialists.

This year’s trade fair was held in the period of celebration of 20 years of Farmers’ movement in Ukraine. Every year a Meeting of Council of Association of Farmers and Private Landowners of Ukraine and Awarding ceremony of the winners of All-Ukrainian best farmer economy, private plot and best young farmer of Ukraine competition takes place within the exhibition program.
There were also conducted seminars and round tables within the framework of which advanced technologies in agriculture and ways of solution of branch’s problems were discussed.

AGROFORUM became a traditional place of meeting of machine-engineering and associated branches specialists: not only farmers find their interest at the trade fair, but also representatives of leading large agricultural enterprises and associations. This allows to estimate demand and proposal in all segments of agrarian market at the local, regional and international level, to find all the best and the most essential for their business.
