The main theses of the reports:

The Energy Community is satisfied with way of cooperation with Ukraine and tries to facilitate its recovery from the crisis. In particular, he noted that during the XII meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Energy Community, which was held in Kyiv, there were adopted several documents, which are extremely important for the development of the Ukrainian energy sector and the economy as a whole: "The Second interesting part of the cooperation with Ukraine was a discussion [at the meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Energy Community] gas supply security case. Ukraine is the largest transporter of gas to the European Union and is actively cooperating with other countries to diversify supply at present. In addition, Yanez Kopach noted that Ukraine should pay more attention to the energy efficiency measures, because it will allow it to become less dependent on energy suppliers, in particular, this applies to gas".

Yanez Kopach, the director of the Energy Community Secretariat

"Implementation and changes in the energy sector are in fact extremely actually as the most basic and large-scale reforms that will be actually investigated in the framework of the Association". Julia Kovaliv stressed that NCRCP and the Ministry of Energy and Coal of Ukraine now have an important task - the liberalization of gas and electricity markets.

Yulia Kovaliv, the member of the National Commission for state regulation in the energy and communal services

Today the Ukrainian energy works in such difficult conditions as never before: "On the other hand it gives us the opportunity for changes, providing the necessary reforms and building truly transparent relationships; to modernize the sector, attract new technologies and financial resources, improve standards of fuel and energy complex on the basis of European standards". According to the deputy minister, provided a proper reform of the industry, Ukraine will be able to become part of the European energy market in 2-3 years.

Vadym Ulyda, the deputy of minister of energy and coal

Expressed the belief that the dialogue of the non-governmental, business organizations and governmental authorities will help to achieve common goals. In his opinion, the reform of the energy sector in Ukraine is not just important, it is as a priority, as this will allow the country to strengthen its economy and have a positive impact on the development of the energy sector in other countries.

Valter Tretton, the head of department "Energy, transport and environment" of the EU delegation in Ukraine

Noted that " from the entire block just a few Directives on technical regulations were actually implemented two months ago, namely labelling household equipment, but just in the last two months Ukraine was able to get closer to substantially fulfill its objectives".

Sergii Dubovyk, the deputy chairman of the State energy efficiency

Stressed that the key to the normal implementation of the European directives is the dialogue within government, between government and public, as well as government and business. Among the main challenges facing the coalition "Energy reform" in the current conditions, the expert identified bringing the legislation in the sphere of the market of gas and electricity to the requirements of the Third energy package, the adoption and promulgation of the monitoring mechanism of joint flow of gas between Ukraine and the EU, the adoption of the law "On state regulation in the energy sector" and law "On the assessment of the impact on the environment, and adopting legislation to improve the level of competition in the market.

Olena Pavlenko, the president of the analytical center of the DIXI Group, a member of the coalition "Energy reform"

In his speech noted that the adoption of European standards in the energy market will contribute to the new investment and strengthen the economy of the country as a whole. He stressed that the development of appropriate legislation will promote a more active participation of business in the stabilization and development of oil and gas markets of Ukraine. In addition, Bernard Casey also noted the need to improve dialogue between government and business.

Bernard Casey, the president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine

Stated that one of the key tasks of the Ministry is a radical revision of business processes and raise of domestic enterprises awareness on new rules of the game in the market: "Preparation of environmental legislation should be, in our opinion, clearly held with the participation of representatives of business and civil society institutions that will allow us to satisfy the Ukrainian realities".

Pavlo Ungurian, the deputy of minister of ecology and natural resources of Ukraine

Pointed on the need to strengthen the role of the regulator, the degree of its independence and focus on the liberalization of gas and electricity markets. He also stressed that the Energy Community is ready to contribute to the reform process in Ukraine, especially in the current crisis, as this will help to avoid similar crises in the energy sector in the future.

Dirk Buschle, the deputy director of the Energy Community Secretariat

The results of the Day of nuclear power

Nuclear energy is the most important component of the energy complex of Ukraine. "In order to preserve the power of nuclear energy on the current level in the next six years the company needs to extend the operating life of the nine units. Our second goal is to increase the delivery of capacity, primarily from the Western regions, where we have "trapped" power from 900 to 1100 MW. This task will be solved in the course of 2014 and 2015 by building high-voltage transmission line 750 kWh from Rivne NPP to Kyiv", - said the President of the NNEGG "Energoatom" Yurii Nedashkovskyi. In addition, the NNEGG "Energoatom" is exploring the possibility of exporting electricity to Poland and Hungary with the 2nd units at Khmelnitskyj NPP and plans in December to provide the billing documentation to the government for consideration. "Next week the delegation of the NNEGGs "Energoatom" and "Ukrenergo" travels to Poland for talks, and I think, by the end of the year we will be able to present to our government the possibility of exporting electricity from the 2nd block KhNPP", - said Yurii Nedashkovskyi. He noted that the Company is considering the possibility of exporting electricity to Hungary. According to him, the possible amount of electricity exports may be about 7 billion kWh per year.
The opportunity to export electricity will allow the NNEGG “Energoatom” to attract significant funds for the modernization and life extension of power units.
